LSNSW - request to complete Part A by 30 April 2025
|
The Trust Lodgement Portal (TLP) is now open and ready for you to complete your Part A. This is an obligation under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW) (Uniform Law) for all law practices, including those that do not currently operate a trust account (estimated time to complete: 1 minute).

ABC Insurance - Update from LSNSW
|
The Law Society received confirmation from the NSW Attorney General on 27 February 2025 that Lawcover’s PII policies had been approved for the 2025-2026 practising certificate year. The Attorney General confirmed in a letter to the Law Society dated 9 April 2025 that he had not approved any PII policies for the 2025-2026 year, other than the policies provided by Lawcover. The Attorney General advised in his letter that ABC Insurance’s application to provide PII policies for the 2025-2026 year remained under consideration.

Under the Legal Profession Uniform Law, there is no avenue for ABC Insurance to offer PII to NSW solicitors during the 2025-2026 practising certificate year, other than with the approval of the Attorney General. Unless and until such time the Law Society receives confirmation from the Attorney General that he has approved ABC Insurance’s application, the Law Society will not be able to process practising certificate applications attached to PII policies issued by ABC Insurance.
